[ It's been over a month since she showed up in Luceti. A month of putting on her perfect good little face that Charles approved of and staying out of anyone's business as much as possible. The effort is tiring sometimes and she revels in the chance to close all her curtains and be herself for once. And after some thinking she opens up her journal to address things. ]

What do you do when you're tired of pretending for someone who isn't even around? I know I'm not the only freak here but how long to you bother hiding?

Hey, I know I kind of vanished for a while but. It was all a little too much to take in all at once. Can we have a face to face? [ She takes a deep breath. ] A real face to face. I'll put my cards on the table if you will.

I can hide too, if you saw me you'd see what I want you to. But... we shouldn't have to hide even though we can.

Why not?

I'd rather people not know I'm a monster.

Because they need to learn to accept people who are different. And what makes you a monster, anyways?

[There's a long pause before she answers.]

As a child I was taken and...experimented on. Twisted. Into something...terrible.

Some of it, eventually, they were able to fix. But most of it is still inside me.

...That doesn't make you a monster. What you do with that is what defines you. What I am is strange and I might not always be happy but I want to be proud of it.

You should be proud of it, you were born that way, right?

I wasn't. I was made into a freak. There's no escaping that, no turning it into something else. I am what they made me.

You're what you make of yourself. They might have changed what you are but we're the ones who choose who we are. You can own it and make it something to be proud of.

Freaks and proud.

[There might be a slightly bitter laugh.] Using it to my advantage doesn't change what I am.

There's a thing living inside my stomach. A parasite. [She says the words as if they're filthy.]

If I take it out, I'll die. Or go mad. Even if I somehow change the world, that thing will never go away.
