[ Raven starts out the post reading from something rather than speaking casually. ]

I went to the library for a cookbook and instead I get this. My brother's thesis that he submitted to Oxford to get his doctorate. It's a real boring read but I figure it might be something scientists here might be interested in. It's about genetic mutation in... in humans.

[ Her voice is a bit tight as she trails off for a moment before continuing. ]

Hell, even if you need a something to get you to sleep and not dream about anything it's pretty useful. It's called Theories on Genetic Mutation by Charles Xavier.


[ Action ]

[ After making her post to the network Raven goes on a few errands to keep herself distracted from the tug of homesickness in the pit of her stomach. The reminder that it's been months and she hasn't seen a single face from home. She stops at both the bakery and grocery store to pick up some groceries.

Later on the evening she'll be at HQ, not working for once but sitting at the bar. She isn't in the mood to dance but staying in her apartment alone isn't working for her at the moment. She'll be nursing a few drinks inside before finally giving up and sitting outside. ]

[Taking a sip from his drink when it arrived, Remy scoured his brain for why that rung a bell. Darkholme. It didn't match the face he was looking at... oh. Heh, no it didn't match the face. Eyeing Raven out of the corner of his eye, Remy had to wonder if this was a very well placed act (and one she had kept up for months) or just one of the many universes out there that were so different from his own.]

[One where Mystique wasn't a terrorist... interesting.]

Ya know, ya brother's name rings a bell from my own world, so I gotta ask if ya know others that might share at least similar names, if not 'nything else. [Once again, either she was a good actress or she hadn't ran into his alternative self in her universe. May as well go fishing to see who else was shared between worlds.]

[ It seemed people who knew her brother were in abundance. People like Jean who called him a mentor and Wanda who thought he was a bastard. And now Remy was added to the count. It made her wonder if he was a mutant. Like Wanda. And maybe even Jean if Charles was mentoring her.

He did so like molding young minds. ]

Go for it, but don't expect me to know that much. I don't think anyone's told you but I'm behind on the times.

Or 'head of them, dependin' who ya talkin' to 'nd when they came from, hein?

[Who to start with. One of the Loserhood? More of the X-Men? Though she didn't seem to know those already here bar the time they shared in Luceti. A fellow Acolyte? Then again, if you're going to throw names around like Xavier, may as well go big or go home.]

How 'bout Erik Lehnsherr, might go by Magneto.

[ Magneto. "You should be Professor X and You'll be Magneto." It had been a game. Coming up with secret agent names because they'd been recruited by the government. They had all been too young. ]

...Yeah, I know Erik. He and Charles like playing chess a lot.

[ She looks at Remy sidelong now. He doesn't really look like he's with the government. How would someone know that name who wasn't with the CIA? ]

In my world, I use to work for Erik. [Was a little weird to use the man's real name, didn't suit him. Magneto was an intimidating figure, more than a little crazy and hell bent on his goals, Erik didn't suit that.]

'nd know of Charles 'nd his work with his students.

[mutantblues]

We've been working with him back home to deal with some... problems. Mutants who want to make the world less safe for everyone.

[And that wasn't Magneto?! Who the hell were they fighting then?]

Yeaaah, ran into those types myself. [Takes a long drink.] Idealists who want to share their ideas with others. 'lways fun. [His tone told otherwise.]

Who else... Ya ever ran into Ororo or Logan when they were here in Luceti? Got ya own versions back home?

I've never heard of anyone named that back home. For all I know they haven't even been born yet.

[ She shrugs ]

I might have run into them here but I don't recall their names either.

'Ro be a belle femme, dark skin, white hair, controls the weather. Logan be a little, angry, fuzzy mutant. Lots of cigars, lots of booze, lots of attitude. Big metal claws.

[Remy was curious about if she had ran into Logan, to see if he had recognized her scent, or if this Mystique had learnt the damn trick as the one from their world, being able to mask it.]

...Oh that guy. [ She sips her cola, mostly to cover up the grimace at the memory. ] He threatened me my first day here.

Yeah, he's a real doll. That ok, he tried to give me a rather close shave once. [Remy rubbed a hand against his neck.]

He mistook ya from someone from our world.

He seemed to be pretty convinced of who I was. [ He knew her stupid code name. The only people who were supposed to even know that were from back home. ]

Who knows, maybe he was right. I'm always playing catch up on what's going on.
